Andrew Stephen began his aviation career in Scotland before joining Dan-Air, where he spent 12 years in flight operations, ground handling, and hub management, latterly running their main hub operation at Gatwick before taking charge of their European operations.
He later held senior roles at Virgin Atlantic, overseeing customer relations, alliances, and country management in Greece and Hong Kong.
After leading Watermark Asia for 3 years, Andy returned to the airline industry with management positions at United Airlines, Qatar Airways, and TransAsia Airways. He went on to serve as CCO of VietJet, CEO of Golden Myanmar Airlines, and later led the launch of Bassaka Airlines in Cambodia. His expertise spans full-service and low-cost carriers, start-ups, aircraft acquisition, and operational and commercial leadership.
More recently, Andy has advised airlines such as TUS Airways, flyEgypt, and Hi Air on restructuring and strategy. He is now Corporate Development Advisor at Planitas, leveraging his extensive global network and industry knowledge to support airline customers worldwide.
